Amiee & Paul's Wedding March 21, 2009

Well, this was really Barbie and Ken's wedding but their parents named them Amiee and Paul...... what a great looking couple! But, actually the icing on the cake is they must be just as beautiful inside as out. They seemed so relaxed before the wedding and it was all so much fun, we laughed and cut up with all of them and had so much fun as well. What a great group and everyone was ready on time which helps the whole process. A big thanks to Cindy Schriver with Grace Evangelical Church for all her help. Just a few of my favs...........

Kristin & Shaun's Wedding March 14,2009

It is so obvious to anyone around Kristin and Shaun for more than five minutes how much in love they are! They saw each other before the wedding and they really got to enjoy being together their whole wedding day. It was held at the grand Bellevue Baptist Church, so we had a beautiful setting. Getting snuggly and kissie pictures was no problem. They adore each other and I am glad I got to watch them together.

Joy and Jimmy's Wedding March 7, 2009

Joy and Jimmy's wedding was so wonderful and sentimental, even for us as I photographed Joy's parent's wedding many years ago! What a great thing to happen and come back around and see them all these years later. One thing that I especially remember is how many people stood up at the reception to toast the Bride and Groom and say how Joy really fits her name and that is what she produces....joy and I can surely see that! can't beat that smile!

Lezli and John

This winter my blog has taken a back seat, but I am about to remedy that! We have had some great sittings on those several great sunny days we had late in Feb. and early March. One was Lezli and John's session downtown, Memphis. We did things at the Central Station and the historic Arcade Restaurant. Got some great stuff and fun in the process. Here are a couple.

Rikki and Kevin's Wedding

Rikki and Kevin's wedding was so wonderful! It was held at one of Memphis' most beautiful churches St. John's Episcopal Church and we even had a beautiful day so we got to do some pictures in the garden. Everyone was ready on time which allows us to do lots of extra things that we love to do. Rikki wore, get this...her Grandmother's wedding gown! They had it reworked to fit into today's styles and it looked gorgeous and so did she in it! Her sweet Grandmother was there to see her walk down the aisle in her own gown, what a special moment for a grandmother. Rikki also wore her Aunt's cathedral length veil and headpiece, which was also fabulous. I was surprised the veil was in such good shape, that material is so fragile and gets destroyed so easily and she told me it had been cleaned, packaged, and stored by Drake's Cleaners on Evergreen, in my neighborhood. Way to go Drakes! They both looked like new.
It was such a nice close family event and we loved just watching and being a part of all that.
I even got to see several people I have not seen in between 15 and 30 years. We even recognized each other! Memphis is a great place to grow up and raise a family.
Mostly the two of them are so in love and seemed to enjoy the whole event and danced the night away. They had fun and enjoyed it, and that is the way it is supposed to be!

Melody and Gilbert's Wedding

I really hope all our couples this spring and summer have as much fun at their wedding as Melody and Gilbert did. We always end up having so much fun ourselves, but when the couple has great fun on the entire wedding day it is contagious. They had the time of their lives and that is really the way it should always be. They giggled, played and really enjoyed each other and that makes the pictures even more fun for everyone and it shows. It was a beautiful but very cold January day and the wedding party were such troupers to go outside and get some really great images. They also had what is so far the most energetic dance routine I have seen thus far.
The room exploded as they finished to about 8 different dances to a wide range of music. Actually I think they both danced with everyone there and did not sit down at all after their meal. So, follow their example and relax, (and Melody had a potential dress problem that could have thrown her for a loop as she was dressing, but you would never know it) and enjoy your wedding day, every minute of it and your pictures will help you relive that day every time you look at them!
