Rikki and Kevin's Wedding

Rikki and Kevin's wedding was so wonderful! It was held at one of Memphis' most beautiful churches St. John's Episcopal Church and we even had a beautiful day so we got to do some pictures in the garden. Everyone was ready on time which allows us to do lots of extra things that we love to do. Rikki wore, get this...her Grandmother's wedding gown! They had it reworked to fit into today's styles and it looked gorgeous and so did she in it! Her sweet Grandmother was there to see her walk down the aisle in her own gown, what a special moment for a grandmother. Rikki also wore her Aunt's cathedral length veil and headpiece, which was also fabulous. I was surprised the veil was in such good shape, that material is so fragile and gets destroyed so easily and she told me it had been cleaned, packaged, and stored by Drake's Cleaners on Evergreen, in my neighborhood. Way to go Drakes! They both looked like new.
It was such a nice close family event and we loved just watching and being a part of all that.
I even got to see several people I have not seen in between 15 and 30 years. We even recognized each other! Memphis is a great place to grow up and raise a family.
Mostly the two of them are so in love and seemed to enjoy the whole event and danced the night away. They had fun and enjoyed it, and that is the way it is supposed to be!

Melody and Gilbert's Wedding

I really hope all our couples this spring and summer have as much fun at their wedding as Melody and Gilbert did. We always end up having so much fun ourselves, but when the couple has great fun on the entire wedding day it is contagious. They had the time of their lives and that is really the way it should always be. They giggled, played and really enjoyed each other and that makes the pictures even more fun for everyone and it shows. It was a beautiful but very cold January day and the wedding party were such troupers to go outside and get some really great images. They also had what is so far the most energetic dance routine I have seen thus far.
The room exploded as they finished to about 8 different dances to a wide range of music. Actually I think they both danced with everyone there and did not sit down at all after their meal. So, follow their example and relax, (and Melody had a potential dress problem that could have thrown her for a loop as she was dressing, but you would never know it) and enjoy your wedding day, every minute of it and your pictures will help you relive that day every time you look at them!
